Field Manager - Lift Installation & Modernisation
Location:
South East / London / Home Counties – access to Dartford or Andover Offices.
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 plus extensive benefits package and car allowance.
Core hours:
Onsite 08:00-17:00, with one hour for lunch.
Note:
We will buy you out of any training funded by your current employer.
Liftec Express is a leading independent provider of lift and escalator maintenance, repair and modernisation services across the UK. Formerly part of OTIS, it is now a private‑equity‑backed company owned by R‑Capital. It specialises in the supply, installation, maintenance, repair and modernisation of all types of lift equipment for commercial, residential and public‑sector sites.
ResponsibilitiesReporting to and working alongside a Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the effective day‑to‑day management of site operations on lift installation or modernisation projects. Key duties include:
- Defining project objectives and managing multiple installation or modernisation sites.
- Supervising the installation of equipment, monitoring site progress and coordinating with stakeholders on‑ and off‑site.
- Ensuring projects run on time and within budget, while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Monitoring engineers and subcontractors, training and supervising subcontractors where applicable.
- Acting as the key technical point of contact for owners, architects, consultants, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Mitigating safety, ethics and quality risks, ensuring compliance with Liftec Express policies as well as government and legal requirements.
- Supporting customer satisfaction, providing technical engineering guidance and contributing to improved project profitability.
- Experience as a lift professional with strong modernisation or installation background.
- NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (essential). NVQ4 in Lift Commissioning, SMSTS or SSSTS and a suitable CSCS card would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a dynamic, customer‑focused environment.
- Organised, self‑reliant, comfortable managing site activities, monitoring progress and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Strong computer skills and commercial awareness.
- Previous experience in a field management or senior engineering role is preferred but not essential; structured training and development will be provided.
