Automatic Door Installer About the Role
Our client is a well-established manufacturer/installer of shopfronts and automatic doors based in Dartford, Kent. They are looking to recruit an experienced Automatic Door Installer to join their expanding installation team.
This is a field‑based role covering London, the South East and sites across the UK. Based from the company's Dartford facility, you will be responsible for the installation, assembly, commissioning and handover of automatic doors across a wide range of commercial, industrial and public sector projects.
Applicants should ideally live within Kent or the surrounding areas, have good access to Dartford and hold a full UK driving licence.
Key Responsibilities- Install automatic doors.
- Assemble and install door frames, operators, door leaves and associated hardware.
- Install and connect electrical control equipment and low‑voltage wiring.
- Fit and configure safety sensors, activation devices and access control equipment.
- Commission, programme and test completed installations.
- Ensure all installations comply with current safety standards and customer specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and installation manuals.
- Carry out final adjustments and quality checks before handover.
- Complete installation and commissioning documentation accurately.
- Liaise with customers, site managers and other trades to ensure projects run smoothly.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools and equipment.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
- Previous experience installing automatic door systems.
- Strong mechanical installation skills.
- Experience with low‑voltage electrical wiring and connections.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Competent using hand and power tools.
- Excellent fault‑solving and practical skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
