Junior Financial Accountant

Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

We’re adding a Junior Financial Accountant to our team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. At Atlantica, a member of The Cahill Group of companies, we execute commercial and industrial construction projects and services in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

• You have a degree or diploma in Accounting (new grads welcome!)
• You have excellent time management and organizational skills
• You’re interested in pursuing your CPA designation
• You have strong skills in Excel and other Microsoft programs, as well as Accounting software (experience with Jonas is an asset)

• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and associated work papers for review and submission to stakeholders.
• Reconcile intercompany balances between related parties including divisions, companies, and joint ventures.
• Perform weekly bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile and post monthly credit card purchases in general ledger.
• Review outstanding Purchase Orders with project managers and close out completed purchase orders.
• Address external auditor requests by providing reports, samples, and supporting documentation for requested transactions.
• Monitor accounts receivable process, including reviewing and reporting on outstanding balances, communicating with clients and internal parties to facilitate payment and taking credit card payments.
• Support accounts payable team as needed.
• Other Finance and Accounting duties as assigned.
