We are currently recruiting a Human Resources Generalist for our Dartmouth
, NS location. This is an in-office position on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the operations of Maritime Paper Products. The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for providing comprehensive support with recruitment, employee relations, immigration programs, and day-to-day operations of a busy Human Resources Department. The job requires working in a fast-paced, structured environment with clear expectations and the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
The ideal candidate is capable of self-directed learning, attentive to detail, and has exceptional organizational and time management skills. You will have the ability to work both individually and as part of a team, while always demonstrating a positive and enthusiastic attitude. You excel at interpersonal relations and are comfortable reaching out to a variety of stakeholders at all levels of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Full cycle hourly recruitment including creating job postings, reviewing resumes, screening candidates, organizing interview, drafting contracts, reference checks;Champion our culture through employee engagement while seeking to understand the employee experience and make continuous improvement recommendations.Supports the onboarding process by completing new hire orientations and ensuring that employees have the tools and access needed;Maintains employee information in HRIS, including schedules, while maintaining employee personnel and training files;Support department with monthly HR metrics through writing reports and dashboard creation;Sets up new employees in HRIS and facilitate the employee lifecycle by ensuring changes are documented and submitted;Assist with the annual performance management program;Back up for payroll processing to ensures accurate and timely pay;Support department with educational session preparation and delivery;Support employee wellness initiatives, programs and company events;Drafts and submits employment verification letters;Additional duties as required.Required knowledge and training includes:
A post-secondary education in Human Resources, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.Payroll processing and report writing experience in ADP and/or Payworks.Experience with employee immigration programs and documentation is an asset.Must have strong computer skills, especially in the Microsoft Office suite (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Ability to take directions, multi-task, work with deadlines and redefine priorities when necessary.Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
