Overview
Our client, Canada's largest national distributor of pumps, compressors, integrated systems packages, process equipment, and repair services, is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to support its Atlantic Canada territory. This position is responsible for driving sales growth, managing assigned accounts, supporting distribution channels, and building strategic business relationships across the region. The successful candidate will execute sales strategies, achieve quarterly and annual sales objectives, and contribute to the company's continued growth within the oil & gas, municipal, fire protection, mining, and general industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development- Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals for assigned accounts and territory.
- Develop and execute sales plans, programs, and strategies to drive revenue growth.
- Identify, develop, and nurture new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, distributors, retail partners, and wholesale partners.
- Promote the company's products, services, and solutions throughout Atlantic Canada.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings to generate business opportunities.
- Communicate and reinforce brand identity with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct regular sales forecasting and provide weekly and monthly status reports.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Manage assigned customer accounts and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and support.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver technical solutions and exceptional service.
- Work closely with Accounts Receivable personnel to support timely collection of outstanding invoices.
- Ensure personal compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Promote a safe work environment for employees, customers, and contractors.
- Complete all required safety training, inspections, and assigned safety tasks.
- Regularly communicate occupational health and safety expectations and requirements.
- Monitor workplace compliance with health and safety programs and legislation.
- Immediately report and coordinate with the Health & Safety department regarding inspections, incidents, inquiries, or safety concerns.
- Proven experience in technical sales or a related industrial sales environment.
- Strong ability to conduct effective technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining client relationships.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and account management abilities.
- Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and highly accountable.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Strong business acumen and customer‑focused approach.
- Comfortable with regular travel throughout Atlantic Canada.
- Travel required:
Approximately 5 days per month. - Ability to prepare and deliver professional customer presentations.
