Gas Technician Job Dartmouth area,Nova Scotia Canada,Trades / Skilled Labor

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas systems and appliances. This role requires a strong understanding of gas safety protocols and the ability to work effectively in various environments. The Gas Technician will ensure that all work is performed according to industry standards and regulations, providing exceptional service to our clients.

Pay: From CA $35.00 per hour

Duties:

Install, maintain, and repair gas lines, meters, and appliances.

Conduct routine inspections of gas systems to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

Conduct pre-trip inspection (PTI), report deficiencies and to carry a copy of the PTI in the delivery vehicle.

Carry, in the delivery vehicle, all documentation required by any government legislation or regulation at all times.

Competent technical service with regard to the service, repair, and installation of heating equipment

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to gas equipment and systems.

Respond promptly to service calls for emergency repairs or maintenance.

Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory.

Educate customers on safe usage practices for gas appliances.

Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications:

Gas Technician – G1 preferred. G2 with interest in obtaining G1 will be considered

Previous experience as a Gas / Oil Technician or in a similar role.

Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various work sites.

Successful completion of company or legislated training.

Knowledge of gas systems, appliances, and safety regulations.

Ability to use diagnostic tools and specialized equipment.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose technical issues effectively.

Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members professionally.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Certification or training in gas technology is a plus but not mandatory.
