Mechanic Diesel

Shift: Monday to Friday: 3:30 pm – 12:00 am (40 hours/week)

Pay Rate: $40.19 /hour

The Diesel Mechanic inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs assigned on‑/off‑road and heavy‑duty equipment to ensure proper function, vehicle safety and meet quality and performance goals.

• Diagnose and repair on‑/off‑road and heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment to meet preventative maintenance schedules, ensure proper function and meet vehicle safety and quality goals.
• Assist with entering data in the mechanic’s maintenance and repair database (e.g., Web Fleet Assistant (WFA)).
• Communicate concerns or escalates unusually complex or persistent problems to the Foreman or other manager.
• Respond to service calls for equipment breakdowns when no supervisor is available to assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues arising from the Control Room, Dispatch, or Drivers.

• Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics license.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clear driver’s abstract that meets Purolator’s insurance requirements (Class 1 preferred).

3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic is required.

• Troubleshoot Mechanical and Collision Repairs.
• Service Reports and Logs Maintenance.
