Fire Alarm Technician

Job Description

Chandler –Alarm and Communications is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician responsible for installation projects, inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems.

• Preparation, assembly, programming set‑up and verification of new fire alarm systems
• Inspection, service, and troubleshooting of existing fire alarm systems
• Work with CAN/ULC standards S524, S536, and S537
• Possess or be willing to obtain CFAA certification (asset)
• Prepare thorough reports and inspection documentation
• Program fire panels
• Operate specialized test tools
• Work comfortably at heights on ladders and lifts, in attics and crawl spaces, and lift 50+ lbs
• Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills
• Self‑motivated and focused on excellent customer service
• Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with Special Hazards Suppression System is an asset

• Minimum 5 years experience in fire alarm installations
• Grade 12 certificate
• Graduation from a recognized electronics program is considered an asset
• Relevant industry experience is considered an asset
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergencies
• Capable of working at heights and with ladders
• Willingness to travel to other areas of the region when required (not frequent)
• Clean criminal background check
• Valid driver’s license
