• The candidate must measure and lay out reference points for installation.
• The candidate must prepare tenders and quotations.
• The candidate will be responsible for assembling and installing refrigeration and air conditioning components.
• The candidate will be responsible for coaching and instructing apprentices.
• The candidate must measure, cut, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
• The candidate must provide excellent customer service.
• The candidate will be responsible for starting the system and testing for leaks with testing devices.
• The candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks such as recharging the system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators, and calibrating the system.
• The candidate will be responsible for interpreting gas codes.
• The candidate must install, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul all heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
• The candidate will be responsible for handling, recovering, and storing refrigerants.
• The candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment in refrigerated trucks that transport food and medical supplies.
• The candidate must repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
• The candidate must read and interpret blueprints.

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must have a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate.
• The candidate must be punctual.
• The candidate should be accurate.
• The candidate should be client focused.
• The candidate should be dependable.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.

• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must be able to work in hot, and cold/refrigerated conditions.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

• The candidate must be knowledgeable about energy conservation, computerized monitoring, electrical devices, electronic and solid state, pneumatic devices, on-board diagnostics, direct digital control systems, and programmable logic controller (PLC).

• The candidate must be skilled in repairing self-contained rooftops, heat pumps, air motion and circulation, filtration, built up (split system), humidification and dehumidification systems, ventilation, and cooling tower.

• The candidate must be familiar with the Green economy sector.
• The candidate must have specialized environmental skills and knowledge.

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

• The candidate should be prepared to perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours in bending, crouching, and kneeling positions.
• The candidate should have an eye for details.

• The candidate must have steel-toed safety boots.
