Correction Officers can start a career and retire in 20 years with a pension – regardless of their age!

• Base Pay: $63,014.38 - $80,431.52
• $8 per day to attend roll call at the start of the shift
• Shift Differential (after probationary period ends): ($1.00 per hour for the 3pm-11pm shift and $1.25 for the 11pm-7am shift)

There are 3 ways you can have your pay accelerated upon graduation from a correction officer academy:

First Responder

Experience:

If you have 3 years of qualified prior experience in law enforcement, corrections, fire service, or EMS your pay can be accelerated to match an Officer who has 1 year of service. If you have 4 or more years of service, your pay would be accelerated to match an Officer who has 2 years of service.

Military Service:
If you have 3 or more years of prior military experience your pay can be accelerated to match an Officer who has 1 year of service or if you have 4 or more years of service, it would be accelerated to match an Officer with 2 years of service.

College Degree:
Having an Associate’s Degree in relevant field of study you’re eligible to have you pay accelerated to match an Officer with 1 year of service. Having a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study makes your eligible to accelerate your pay to match an Officer with 2 years of service.

Working in Corrections can be very challenging. At the Sheriff’s Office we stand by our officers and have created a Stress Unit consisting of specially trained officers and staff who are available 24 hours a day for any staff member who needs help or assistance.

We are committed to ensuring our veterans always have a voice and that their service to our country is not forgotten. We are proud of each of our employees who served in the military and their continued commitment to their community through their service at the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office.
