# Sprinkler Field Coordinator Job – Dartmouth, MA## Why You'll Love This Job The Sprinkler Field Coordinator provides critical operational and technical support to FSI’s Sprinkler Service Department. This role serves as a bridge between the field technicians, service schedulers, and warehouse staff to ensure technician schedules are fully utilized, service calls are properly supported, and materials are ordered, staged, and ready for work.
The position requires strong field experience and technical knowledge of sprinkler systems, the ability to support technicians in real time, and the willingness to travel to job sites for surveys, troubleshooting, and onsite support.## Responsibilities
1. Scheduling & Service Coordination
· Work closely with service schedulers to ensure sprinkler technicians’ schedules are efficiently filled and aligned with service priorities.
· Assist in planning and sequencing service work based on urgency, manpower, and material availability.
· Coordinate with other trades, customers, and internal teams to minimize downtime and scheduling conflicts.
· Support follow-up on outstanding service work, deficiencies, and pending repairs.
2. Field Support & Technical Assistance
· Serve as a technical resource for sprinkler technicians, taking phone calls and providing guidance to resolve service issues based on experience and system knowledge.
· Travel to job sites as needed for: o Job surveys and service assessments o Onsite troubleshooting and technical support o Assisting technicians with complex or unfamiliar system issues
· Help identify scope of work and recommend repairs based on field conditions.
3. Material & Warehouse Coordination
· Work directly with the FSI warehouse employee to ensure materials are: o Ordered accurately and on time o Staged and prepared correctly for upcoming service work
· Create and review material lists based on service needs, field conditions, or technician input.
· Track material availability and coordinate substitutions when parts are discontinued or backordered.
· Ensure technicians have the correct parts before arriving on site to reduce return visits.
4. Documentation & Service Follow-Up
· Assist with organizing and tracking service-related documentation such as: o Past-due service work o Completed repairs o Inspection findings and follow-up needs
· Support follow-up on service quotes generated from inspection reports or field findings.
· Communicate clearly with office staff regarding job status, material needs, and scheduling updates.
5. Client & Internal Communication
· Act as a support point of contact for technicians, office staff, and occasionally customers regarding sprinkler service-related questions.
· Assist in clarifying scope, access needs, and repair requirements identified in the field.
· Support service leadership with information needed for billing reviews and service planning.
6. Collaboration & Team Support
· Work closely with: o Sprinkler technicians o Service schedulers o Warehouse staff o Service management
· Fill in as needed to support inspections, repairs, job site meetings, and internal coordination efforts.
· Contribute to a smooth, organized service workflow across departments.##
Skills & Qualifications Sprinkler System Knowledge:
Strong understanding of sprinkler systems, components, and service practices.
· Field
Experience:
Prior hands-on experience in sprinkler inspections, service, or repairs.
· Technical Troubleshooting:
Ability to diagnose issues and guide technicians in real time.
· Scheduling & Coordination:
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple service priorities.
· Material Management:
Experience working with parts, vendors, and warehouse coordination.
· Communication:
Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills.
· Problem-Solving:
Ability to make practical decisions in fast-paced service environments.
· Travel:
Willingness to travel to job sites for surveys and field support.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in the fire protection or construction industry.
· Working knowledge of NFPA standards and local fire codes related to sprinkler systems.
· Familiarity with service or ERP systems (Net Suite or similar preferred).
· Prior experience supporting service departments or coordinating field technicians.
