An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Facilities Maintenance Electrician to join a fast-paced, highly regulated industrial environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient running of site facilities, systems and equipment.
The RoleYou will be responsible for delivering both reactive and planned mechanical & electrical maintenance, ensuring maximum uptime of plant and equipment. Working across a wide variety of building services—including HVAC, electrical systems, lighting, power, plumbing and ventilation—you'll help keep operations running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and building services
- Execute planned preventive maintenance (PPM) across facilities, systems and equipment
- Diagnose faults, identify root causes and complete repairs with minimal downtime
- Install, commission and test new plant, systems and infrastructure
- Coordinate and oversee external contractors and specialist service providers
- Maintain accurate records including service logs, permits, risk assessments and calibration data
- Support environmental and energy-efficiency initiatives around the site
- Ensure all work meets health, safety, environmental and statutory standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability-driven projects
- Collaborate with production, operations and other site teams to plan maintenance
- Provide support for emergency or out-of-hours issues when required
Essential qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electrical, mechanical or Building Services Engineering
- BS#removed#th Edition Wiring Regulations
Experience:
- Proven background in facilities maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong fault-finding skills and attention to detail
- Effective communicator with good teamwork abilities
- Able to organise and manage your own workload
- Flexible, proactive and hands-on approach
- Positive “can-do” attitude
Desirable:
- Experience with in aerospace, defence or other highly regulated industries
- Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH)
