Assistant Site Manager.

Reports to Store Manager with dotted-line relationship to District Manager.

Purpose:

Maximize sales and gross profit, control expenses, protect assets, and act as the Store Manager’s surrogate during absences.

• Maintain proper controls on cash, inventory, and expenses.
• Complete and transmit end‑of‑day reports by noon on Monday and by midnight on all other days.
• Make bank deposits daily by the established deadline.
• Call in fuel report by 8:00 a.m. each day.
• Analyze sales trends by shift and by day; request assistance from the Store Manager and District Manager when needed.
• Recruit, screen, and train new employees.
• Coach and direct the activities of store employees on a day‑to‑day basis and provide ongoing training.
• Help write and enforce work schedules for all employees within labor guidelines.
• Delegate duties as necessary.
• In the absence of the Manager, authorize hiring or dismissal of employees only with District Manager approval.
• Cover open shifts.
• Ensure that the store meets company standards for safety, appearance, security, etc., and that employees comply with company policies. Address maintenance issues, resolve Ready for Business discrepancies, and conduct Beginning of Day walk‑throughs.
• Order groceries to avoid overstock and out‑of‑stock conditions.
• Check in vendors.
• Ensure merchandising procedures are implemented on time; build displays for sale items promptly with proper pricing and signage.
• Update the price book as directed and effect price changes as they occur.
• Maintain the store’s expense checkbook.
• Conduct fuel price surveys and change fuel prices as directed.
• Conduct a competition price survey during the first week of each month.

• Ability to read, write, and understand the English language; fluency in other languages is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to work long and sometimes unusual hours, standing for extended periods.
• High school level math competency.
• Collaborative work style, able to partner with all personnel to drive overall site performance.
• Insurable by company’s auto liability insurance carrier.

• Self‑motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
• Team‑builder who provides honest and timely feedback, both positive and negative.
• Ability to use a calculator, computer, and other business equipment normally found in a c‑store.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
