Ensure aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy when transporting medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. Maintain compliance with FAR, AIM, GOM, and Air Methods policies.

• Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and legally.
• Complete pre‑flight checks and sign off Daily Flight Log.
• Exercise final authority on aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
• Be knowledgeable of all aircraft and medical systems, and ensure flight team competence.
• Maintain required documentation.
• Conduct detailed flight planning on short notice.
• Participate regularly in meetings, projects, committees, and community outreach.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Regular 7/7 scheduled attendance (12‑hour shifts).

Competitive salary based on flight and EMS experience, starting at $82,900 per year.

Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Air Methods will provide reasonable accommodations for qualified disabled employees.

• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent and 2–5 years related experience, or equivalent combination.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Weight not to exceed 250 lbs and less than 70 years old.

• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and the public.
• Have flown in category within last 24 months.

• 2000 total flight hours, 1500 in category.
• 1000 hours PIC in category.
• 500 hours rotor‑wing turbine.
• 200 hours cross‑country, 50 at night.
• 100 hours un‑aided night PIC (minimum 50 un‑aided; 100 hours NVG may replace up to 50).
• 50 hours total instrument time (RW candidate with FW rating may reduce to 25).

• Instrument rating (and ATP meets requirement).
• Fixed‑wing multi‑engine rating for twin‑engine aircraft.
• Commercial single‑engine land for single‑engine aircraft.
• First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate.

This position is subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per DOT/FAA requirements (pre‑employment, random, reasonable cause/suspicion, post‑accident).
