The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of Community Access, Bureau of Eligibility Determination is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant 1 to join our team.
This is a full-time opportunity in the Scott County office, Monday - Friday with work hours from 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.
New hires will start at the base salary of $16.24 hourly, $1,299.20 biweekly, $33,779.20 annually.
Core Essential Functions- Process incoming and outgoing mail, documents, and emails, including scanning, indexing, and uploading both paper and electronic mail.
- Copy, collate, scan, upload, and distribute documents for workers.
- Input information into various computer applications.
- Answer general questions and route calls coming in on multiple phone lines in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
- Provide reception coverage, respond to questions, and route customers in a professional and courteous manner, including coverage in other county offices.
- File administrative materials, correspondence, and reports.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
- Perform back-up responsibilities for all clerical staff or as assigned.
- Interact with employees and customers in a manner that is consistent with quality customer service delivery.
- Comprehend and adhere to confidentiality and security provisions.
- Prioritize tasks and time to meet established performance goals and critical deadlines.
- Work productively in a team environment.
- Navigate efficiently in a Windows environment and utilize Word, Excel, Outlook and other personal computer programs as necessary.
- Maintain high attendance and report to work on time.
- Use critical thinking skills, prioritize work, and work under pressure.
- Use independent judgement to make sound decisions, demonstrate integrity, confidentiality and a strong work ethic.
- Travel occasionally when it is necessary to cover absences/vacancies in other offices.
No specific education or work experience required.
Within a period of time after hire, as determined by the appointing authority, employees in this class may be required to type at least 40 WPM net as demonstrated by the completion of a typing examination.
