That mission doesn’t happen by accident—it’s built by strong leaders, disciplined execution, and people who genuinely care about doing things the right way.

This role is ideal for a hands-on carrier sales leader who enjoys developing people, building carrier relationships, and rolling up their sleeves when needed. You’ll manage a pod-based team of 5–6 Carrier Sales Representatives
, helping them grow professionally while driving capacity, service, and profitability.

Just as important: this is a company with a strong, approachable President
, a healthy culture, and leadership that invests in its people for the long term.

Relocation note: The role is based in the Quad Cities region. Relocation assistance is provided, and many team members live in Davenport or Bettendorf, IA.

Why This Company
  • Leadership you’ll respect – A President who values transparency, development, and doing business the right way
  • Stability + growth – A profitable, expanding organization with long-term career paths
  • Work-life balance – Monday–Friday environment with reasonable after-hours expectations
  • Culture that matters – Collaborative, respectful, competitive in the right ways, and genuinely enjoyable
  • Recognition & rewardsCompetitive compensation, strong benefits, and performance-based recognition

This is a place where people work hard, support one another, and still enjoy what they do.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead, coach, and develop a pod of 5–6 Carrier Sales Representatives
  • Set expectations, provide consistent feedback, and actively mentor team members
  • Jump in on live situations when needed—modeling negotiations and problem-solving in real time
  • Ensure performance, professionalism, and accountability across the team
Carrier Strategy & Capacity Development
  • Identify, prospect, and secure strategic carrier partners for recurring and committed lanes
  • Source capacity for existing customer opportunities using Parade
  • Transition strategic carriers to CSRs for long-term relationship development
  • Build and document carrier profiles, preferences, and behaviors in Parade
  • Drive participation in digital booking and routing guide initiatives
Operational Excellence
  • Oversee daily carrier sales operations to ensure service, compliance, and profitability
  • Support issue resolution related to pickups, transit, and delivery challenges
  • Maintain strong collaboration with customer-facing sales teams
  • Ensure team adherence to policies, processes, and industry regulations
  • Participate directly in posting, booking, dispatching, and load management as needed
Performance & Accountability
  • Track activity and results; ensure goals and behaviors are consistently met
  • Take corrective action when needed and communicate proactively with leadership
  • Foster a positive, professional, and high-performing team environment
What Success Looks Like
  • A well-coached, engaged carrier sales pod that consistently delivers capacity and service
  • Strong, profitable carrier relationships that scale across lanes and customers
  • A team that trusts your leadership and continues to grow under your guidance
  • Operational execution that supports both customer satisfaction and margin goals
What We’re Looking For Required Experience & Skills
  • 3+ years in transportation or logistics (5+ years preferred)
  • Proven experience in carrier prospecting, sourcing, and negotiation
  • Prior leadership or team coaching experience (formal or informal)
  • Strong sales acumen—selling lanes and value
    , not just spot loads
  • Organized, clear communicator with strong follow-through
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, occasionally high-pressure environment
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or related field)
  • Equivalent industry experience will be considered
  • Supervisory role with direct team responsibility
  • Less than 10% travel
  • Some after-hours responsiveness expected as part of a leadership role
  • Base Salary: $80,000–$100,000 (depending on experience)
  • Performance-based incentives
  • Full benefits package
  • Relocation assistance to the Quad Cities area
Final Word

This is a strong opportunity for a carrier sales leader who wants stability, influence, and room to grow
—working for a leadership team that values people just as much as results.

If you’re ready to take ownership of a pod, develop talent, and build something meaningful, this role is worth a conversation.
