Job Summary /Description

We're looking for a dynamic Morning Anchor/Reporter to be the vibrant heart of KWQC's morning team in Davenport, IA. You'll be the face and voice that wakes up the Quad Cities, delivering essential breaking news and impactful stories across every platform—from the broadcast desk to social feeds and streaming updates.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Anchor compelling newscasts:
    Command the morning desk with energy and authority, delivering vital news and updates that help our community start their day informed.
  • Own breaking news:
    React swiftly and calmly to developing stories, providing real-time information and context across TV, digital, and streaming platforms.
  • Drive digital engagement:
    Be a social media powerhouse, creating engaging content, going live, and connecting with our audience where they are (not just where they watch).
  • Serve the Quad Cities:
    Step beyond the studio to actively participate in community events, emceeing, and building genuine relationships that reflect KWQC's local commitment.
  • Mentor and lead:
    Inspire and collaborate with our talented team, especially our newer producers, to elevate the quality and innovation of every morning show.
  • Create multi-platform content:
    Seamlessly transition between traditional broadcast and critical streaming updates, ensuring our news reaches everyone, everywhere.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Proven experience as an anchor or reporter, with a strong, authentic on-air presence that resonates with viewers.
  • A genuine passion for local news and a deep desire to serve the Quad Cities community.
  • Expertise in social media strategy and execution, viewing it as a powerful tool for connection and storytelling.
  • Exceptional news judgment:
