Mercy One Genesis  is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Spine Surgeon to join our growing orthopedic team. This is an exceptional opportunity to be a foundational member of a new and rapidly developing orthopedic practice, with the autonomy to shape, build, and elevate a comprehensive spine program from the ground up.

We are seeking a fellowship-trained spine surgeon with expertise across the full spectrum of degenerative, traumatic, and deformity-related spinal conditions. This role offers a balance of complex surgical work, general spine care, and collaboration with a strong network of primary care, pain management, neurology, and rehabilitation services. With dedicated OR access, robust APP support, and strong system-wide infrastructure, you'll have everything you need to build a thriving, high-impact spine practice.

• Grow and define a spine program. You'll have the opportunity to design clinical pathways and influence the strategic direction of a new orthopedic service line.
• Strong referral network. With a large, loyal patient base and broad multispecialty collaboration, you'll enter a high-demand practice with immediate volume potential.
• Multidisciplinary integration. Work closely with PT/OT, PM&R, Pain Management, Anesthesia, and Hospital Medicine to support ideal outcomes for spine patients.

• Level III Trauma Center
• Shared evening and weekend call (1:8)

• MD or DO
• Fellowship trained in Orthopedic Spine Surgery
• ABOS Board Certified or Board Eligible required
• Ability to obtain Iowa and Illinois medical licenses
• Strong clinical and surgical skill set across cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine care
• Excellent communicator with a team-oriented mindset
• Welcoming to graduating fellows and experienced spine surgeons

• Two-year guaranteed salary: $739,410
  , with production beginning at 10,650 wRVUs
• Straight production model starting year 3
• Earning potential of $1M+ annually
