Biology Teaching Fellow - Half-Time
St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA (Davenport campus) invites applications for a half‑time Teaching Fellow position in Biology for the academic year.
Start date:
August 17, 2026.
- Doctorate (ABD considered) or master’s degree in microbiology, immunology, or a related field.
- Experience teaching the required undergraduate biology courses.
- Prior university‑level teaching experience is preferred.
- Ability to teach broadly in biological disciplines, including microbiology and immunology.
- Teach two in‑person undergraduate biology courses per semester at the Davenport campus.
- Participate in biology faculty department activities and service.
- Engage in both face‑to‑face and online teaching modalities as needed.
- Build a vibrant and sustainable learner‑centered model for Catholic higher education across the campuses of Mount Mercy and St. Ambrose University.
- Commit to evidence‑based innovation to create impactful learning experiences for students.
- Contribute to the learning and professional outcomes of students across the university, including the graphic design program.
- Engage in ongoing professional development appropriate to the faculty member’s discipline and academic responsibilities.
- Offer high‑quality learning experiences for students in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online modalities, or demonstrate a willingness to learn how to do so.
