Responsibilities
  • Teach multiple industrial technology courses and an advisory section.
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with students, staff, and parents to maintain a positive climate in the school.
  • Work in a team atmosphere, including collaboration with teacher teams.
  • Build relationships and maintain high academic and behavioral standards for all students.
  • Develop rapport with culturally diverse students so each child can reach their full potential.
  • Communicate regularly with all stakeholders.
  • Make accommodations and differentiate instruction based on student needs.
  • Implement building-wide PBIS practices in support of building and district goals.
  • Support and implement multi‑tiered systems of support (MTSS) for academics and behavior.
  • Integrate new technology‑based strategies into the classroom.
  • Attend and actively participate in all building and district professional development.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality to perform duties successfully.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Qualifications
  • Experience with a 4‑Block schedule and related strategies is desired.
  • Willingness to accept supervisory duties that promote a positive building environment.
  • Ability to organize work time effectively.
  • Excellent attendance history and work record.
  • Understanding of confidentiality with respect to student and parental rights and handling of hard copy information.
  • Experience with Project Lead the Way (PLTW) or willingness to be trained.
  • Willingness to learn, operate, and promote technology.
Physical Requirements
  • Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.
  • Occasionally lift, move, or push items up to 50 lbs (e.g., assisting children or moving furniture).
  • Supervise students in all types of weather.
  • Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
  • Implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.
Work Environment
  • Noise level ranging from quiet to loud.
  • Work may be indoors and/or outdoors.
  • Work may be in non‑air‑conditioned rooms.
  • Substance‑free environment.
  • Fast‑paced atmosphere with constant contact with students, staff, or the public.
  • Direct responsibility for the safety, well‑being, and work output of students.
