This position requires an endorsement and involves various duties and responsibilities including attending required trainings, implementing feedback for instructional changes, providing instruction based on the Iowa Core Standards, using data to drive instruction, completing paperwork appropriately, collaborating with general education teachers, implementing services outlined in individual education plans, establishing clear objectives for lessons, identifying student needs, making appropriate referrals, developing strategies for individual education plans, communicating with parents, conferring with other staff members, engaging in collaborative work, participating in co-teaching, supporting instruction through an Individual Education Plan, providing individual and small group research-based instruction, developing instructional materials, instructing students in citizenship and basic subject matter, developing lesson plans, planning and conducting activities, preparing for assigned classes, developing individualized educational plans, fostering cooperative social behavior, developing in students an awareness of their worth, utilizing technology in instruction, utilizing research-based teaching strategies, evaluating students' academic and social growth, maintaining accurate student records, establishing and enforcing rules for classroom behavior, modeling and maintaining standards of responsible student behavior, implementing behavior management strategies, demonstrating ability in interpreting behavior assessments, attending professional in-service activities, communicating and cooperating with parents and colleagues, planning and coordinating work of educational assistants, supervising students in out of classroom activities, participating in faculty committees, supervising students and educational assistants, possessing strong interpersonal skills, ensuring each child reaches his/her full potential, maintaining good attendance and punctuality, passing Medicaid Fraud background check, supporting Davenport's multi-tiered system of supports, and meeting physical and work environment requirements.
