Special Education Teacher
The Davenport Community School District is an EEO/AA employer. Duties include attending all required trainings, using data to drive instruction, collaborating with general education teachers, implementing services outlined in each individual's IEP, establishing clear objectives for lessons, identifying students' needs, communicating with parents, and engaging in collaborative work. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build rapport with culturally diverse students, and good attendance and punctuality.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, speaking, hearing, seeing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., and supervising students in all types of weather. The work environment is fast-paced with constant contact with students, staff, or the public. A B.A. or B.S. degree in Education is required, with cross-cultural experience and special education teaching experience preferred.
