Musical Director - Supplemental

Music Director

The Davenport Community School District is an EEO/AA employer. This is a 3% supplemental contract. The Music Director will perform duties including but not limited to assisting in the casting of performers based on musical ability, conducting rehearsals with performers using the vocal score for the production, assisting the Book Director throughout the production, and preparing the performers vocally for the production.

Physical Requirements of Position:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to visually monitor students. Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties. Good attendance and punctuality are required. Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture. Ability to drive a district van to transport students.

Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather.

Work Environment:
Noise level is quiet to loud. Work may be indoors and/or outdoors. Work may be in non-air-conditioned rooms. Flexibility and patience are required. Substance-free environment. Fast-paced atmosphere with constant contact with students, staff, or the public. Direct responsibility for the safety, well-being, and work output of students.

Musical Background Theatre Background Successful Candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
