Job Description

WagesNew hires: entry level rate $16.39/hr current employees in bargaining unit: refer to salary schedule established by applicable bargaining group.
Duties & Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with teachers in MTSS to assist in the success of all students.
- Teach, model, and support PBIS in all building situations.
- Work with students in skills room.
- Ability to work with ALL students.
- Computer skills necessary to input data into student data system and manipulate spreadsheets.
- With classroom teachers, establish a positive learning environment while maintaining a structured setting.
- Assist and support classroom teacher with instruction.
- Work collaboratively with teachers using developmentally appropriate practices, including following teacher's direction for instruction.
- Assist teacher in monitoring students' progress by keeping necessary records and giving feedback as requested.
- Willingness to work positively with students to develop and/or enhance practice of self-discipline; ability to resolve conflicts; communicate and relate to students in a non-threatening and friendly manner.
- Maintain patience and positive interpersonal skills with all students.
- Walk hallways during class time and/or passing time, reporting any issues to office staff.
- Communicate with instructional staff daily regarding instruction and student issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each reaches full potential.
- Good attendance and punctuality are must to ensure duties are performed successfully.
- Skilled in, or willing to be trained on, MTSS.
- Skilled in, or willing to be trained on, PBIS.
- Other duties as assigned by building administrator.
- Must be able to stand for a period of time.
- Must be able to walk for extended period of time.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50 lbs.
- Good attendance a must for success in this position.
- Must be flexible due to changes in schedule and student population.
- Experience working with at‑risk students is a plus.
- Proven track record of building rapport with culturally diverse students and their families to ensure each reaches full academic potential.
