Master of Social Work Assistant Professor
St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Social Work at the rank of Assistant Professor to start as soon as January 1st, 2027, and no later than July 1st, 2027. This individual hired for this position will have primary teaching responsibilities in the Master of Social Work Program. The faculty member holding this position will:
One of eight disciplines within the College of Health and Human Services, the MSW program offers a supportive, collaborative environment with a strong focus on teaching, as well as support for scholarship. Multiple interprofessional learning events and numerous outreach services enhance the student experience. Additionally, the program and college value self-directed community involvement, inter-professional collaboration, and active professional development for faculty and staff.
This MSW Program has a single concentration in Empowerment Social Work Practice. Program options include an in-person full-time MSW program, part-time online MSW program, and in-person and online Advanced Standing MSW programs.
The position requires an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and a doctorate in social work or related field. Applications from ABDs will be considered. A minimum of two years of post-MSW experience is required, and evidence of effective teaching is essential. Salary will be commensurate with experience. People from under-represented populations are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to applicants showing a strong history of teaching and practice experience with vulnerable populations.
