Job Description & How to Apply Below

Reliability Engineer (Manufacturing Excellence)

Location: Davenport, Iowa
Work Type: 100% Onsite
Travel: Up to 50% across U.S. manufacturing plants
Compensation: $90,000 – $120,000 + full benefits + relocation assistance (possible)

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a maintenance firefighting position. Northwest Talent Solutions LLC has been retained to recruit for a key client in the manufacturing and engineering sector. The client's identity will be shared with candidates who move forward in the selection process.

You will be part of a corporate Manufacturing Technology & Engineering group that supports multiple large-scale production facilities. Your focus is building reliability systems — not just repairing equipment after failure.

If you are frustrated by plants that say they want reliability but never invest in it this is the opposite environment.

Leadership is actively rolling out enterprise reliability standards across rolling mills and extrusion plants, and this engineer will help design how reliability is done across the company
, not just within a single facility.

You will work directly with plant leadership, operations, maintenance, IT, and finance to improve equipment uptime, OEE, and operational performance.

What You'll Actually Do
  • Implement Reliability Excellence systems across rolling and extrusion plants
  • Drive defect elimination and root cause problem solving
  • Build and improve preventive & predictive maintenance programs
  • Conduct criticality analysis and asset hierarchy development
  • Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) practices
  • Support condition-based monitoring programs
  • Partner with plant operations and maintenance leaders
  • Identify improvement opportunities in OEE and productivity
  • Influence reliability culture across multiple facilities

This is a high-visibility role with exposure to plant leadership and corporate engineering.

What We're Looking For Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in reliability, maintenance engineering, or equipment reliability
  • Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50% between plants
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
Highly Preferred
  • Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM)
  • FMEA / Root Cause Analysis
  • CMMS systems
  • Predictive maintenance / condition monitoring
  • CRE or CMRP certification
  • Data analysis and reporting (Excel, dashboards, visualization)
What Success Looks Like
  • Within the first year you will standardize reliability practices across multiple sites
  • Improve equipment uptime and performance
  • Help plants move from reactive maintenance to predictive maintenance
  • Influence maintenance and operations culture

This role is ideal for an engineer who wants to move toward corporate reliability leadership or regional engineering management
.

Work Environment

You will support a large industrial manufacturing organization that produces engineered materials used in transportation, aerospace, construction, and industrial applications. The company has over a century of operational history and is investing heavily in safety, operational excellence, and sustainable manufacturing.

Benefits
  • Full medical, dental, and vision
  • Retirement plan
  • Paid time off
  • Career growth and internal mobility
  • Relocation assistance (for top candidates)
  • Interview travel reimbursed
Compliance Notice

This position requires access to export-controlled technology under U.S. regulations (ITAR/EAR). Employment eligibility verification will be required at time of hire.
