Structural Engineer

Select Structural is seeking a full-time Structural Engineer to join our Cedar Rapids team. We focus on providing safe and efficient designs using practical experience.

We are a design firm serving Eastern Iowa and national clients.

Our core customers are builders, contractors, developers, and architects for commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential projects.

Position Requirements:

• Interpersonal skills that promote a positive teamwork environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Independent self-starter with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Perform structural analysis and design using wood, steel, concrete, and masonry
• Experience designing structures such as beams, columns, footings, foundations, and other structural systems
• Produce drawings and details utilizing drafting software.
  
  Autodesk Revit preferred
• Knowledge of structural analysis programs. RISA and Enercalc preferred
• Experience and understanding of construction methods and materials
• Familiarity with building codes such as ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, ACI, and NDS

Candidate

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited 4 year program is required with the ability to become licensed in the next 3 to 5 years
• Have passed or ability to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
• A minimum of 1-year post-college graduation experience is required
