Position Title
Engineer 1/2 - Gas

DescriptionThis position is multi-level and will be filled at either the Engineer 1 or Engineer 2 level based on candidate education, work experience and skillset.
Responsibilities- Provide engineering services for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of project additions to Mid American Energy Company's natural gas facilities. (50%)
- Provide technical project management for certain phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, cost tracking and project cost projections. (20%)
- Assist with engineering studies and investigations and assist with preparing oral and written reports. (20%)
- Provide engineering assistance to other departments and perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (10%)
- Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
- Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques.
- Evaluate present practices and implement processes, concepts, training and tools to prevent, detect and correct human errors that may adversely impact the safe, reliable operation of the natural gas transmission and distribution system.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
