Job DetailsThe Metallurgical Engineer will provide support and leadership to the manufacturing processes and products in our finishing areas of sheet or plate, or in our supply areas of rolling or ingot casting. The role includes addressing quality issues related to the area of support, evaluating and developing products, processes, and equipment based on customer requirements, and ensuring procedures and product/process control.
This position involves working with support staff, shift leaders, and the hourly workforce.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 3+ months of related experience or internship equivalent.
- ITAR compliance: position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, which requires U.S. person status. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Minimum of 4 years metallurgical experience is a plus.
- Quality system experience (IATF
16949 or AS9100). - Lean manufacturing experience.
- Experience with Statistical Methods, Engineering Calculations, Physical Metallurgy, Mechanical Metallurgy, Phase Diagrams, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Metal Solidification Theory, Thermodynamics, and Material Processing.
- Experience in the metals or aluminum industry.
