Overview

Eaton’s AER MSD Mission System Division division is currently seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Davenport facility has approximately 900 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace life support and safety systems components and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. Relocation is provided.

What You’ll Do

The Aerospace Mission System Division is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team based out of Eaton s Davenport, Iowa facility. This position is responsible for the design and certification of electrical components as part of Aerospace systems. The individual will support and lead electrical/electronic activities for new product development, including analyzing requirements and assessing compliance, defining interfaces, reviewing component specifications and de-rating, designing PCB/PWB, writing electronic test and qualification plans, supporting product design full life cycle management, and providing technical expertise and guidance to team members and mentoring new engineers.

The individual will also support operation and field service teams with analysis and troubleshooting of legacy products as needed.

  • Lead small to medium integrated product development teams and projects
  • Design, analyze, and test mixed signal PCB’s (Analog and Digital) for oxygen and nitrogen product lines
  • Interpret specifications and drawings
  • Develop test protocols and write test reports
  • Support in house and off-site electrical testing as needed
  • Interface with customers as part of development programs
  • Work with suppliers on component and sub-system development
  • Provide innovative ideas for improvements to new and existing products
  • Provide technical expertise to support Manufacturing, Field Support Engineers, and customers
  • Support bids and proposals for new, modified, or upgraded products
  • Maintain an attitude supportive of continuous improvement, teamwork, cooperation, respect, and integrity
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with electrical hardware and electronic PCB design.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • 5+ years of Electrical Engineering experience.
  • Desire to become expert level in modeling software.
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink.
  • Experience in writing test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Creativity, initiative, and self-starter desired.
  • Strong communication skills with emphasis on technical writing and presentation.
  • Leadership skills with strong customer presence.
  • Structured and systematic problem solving techniques and DFSS.
  • Failure analysis and prediction techniques a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical problem solving
Skills
  • Experience with analysis, problem solving, and conducting root-cause/corrective action analyses
  • Experience writing technical reports
  • Electrical Engineering theory and its application
  • Experience with OrCAD or similar PCB design software
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to learn and apply new concepts
