JOB SU
MMARYThe Senior Virtual Solutions Engineer supports both the sales process and customer project delivery. They are responsible for evaluating manufacturability of customer parts, helping customers improve their designs when appropriate. The Senior VSE is also responsible for concepting and validating solutions using simulation software. Finally, the Senior VSE is responsible for off-line robot programming in various software pack
ages.
Duties/Responsibil
- ities:
Handle the most complex and large-scale automation pr - ojects
Provide training, guidance and oversight to - VSE’s.Support efforts of Sales, Process Engineering, and Project
- Teams.
Review and provide input to customer proposals when requ - ested.
Generate new solution layouts or continue development of solutions created during qu - oting.
Validate solutions through simulation software to eliminate as much uncertainty and risk in the intended process as possible. This includes optimal part orientation, layout and robot reach optimization, payload analysis, tool/fixture access confirmation, and takt time ana - lysis.
Direct Mechanical Design and Tool Design in implementing the validated layout for detailed design - work.
Review the integrated System and Tool Design to confirm reach, part access, tool clearance - , etc.
Create virtual work cells and Off-line Robot Programs when requ - ested.
Become proficient with the 3D printer and Insight sof - tware.
Performs other related work and special pro - jects.
Obeys company policies and procedures and observes all safety regula - tions.
Establish and maintain solution configurations within simulation sof - tware.
Collaborate with design personnel and project team to implement simulated solutions and manage change throughout the project life - cycle.
Evaluate manufacturing takt time through simul - ation.
Authority to evaluate project and company - risk.
Authority to purchase on behalf of the company according to spend p - olicy.

Four-year engineering degree or equivalent education and exp
erience.
Ex
- perience:
Ten or more years of relevant professional ex - perience.
Advanced knowledge of laser equipment, processes, and appl - ications.
Advanced knowledge of arc welding equipment, processes, and appl - ications.
Working knowledge of So - lid Works.
Advanced knowledge of simulation / off-line programming - software.
Visual C - omponents
Robot-specific off-line programming software (Robo Guide, Kuka Sim,
Moto Sim).
Required

Expertise interpreting and applying Geometric Dimensioning and To - lerancing.
