Full-Time Contingent 40 hours may request OT hours Pay Range : 25$/hr. – 28$/hr. Position Summary Davenport Works is seeking a highly motivated Hazardous Materials Coordinator to oversee and support the facility's Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Materials (DG/HM) transportation compliance program. The successful candidate will maintain compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). materials regulations, coordinate employee training programs, support hazardous materials shipping and receiving operations, and serve as a subject matter expert for hazardous material transportation requirements.
Required Qualifications Current 49 CFR Hazardous Materials Certification (required). Minimum 3 years of experience in hazardous materials transportation, environmental compliance, logistics, shipping/receiving, or a related field. Demonstrated knowledge of: DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR). Hazard classification, marking, labeling, packaging, and shipping documentation requirements. Hazardous material employee training requirements and record retention. Regulatory compliance and audit preparation. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise business systems.
Preferred Qualifications Experience coordinating hazardous materials programs in a manufacturing environment. Certifications or experience with IMDG and IATA regulations. Experience conducting compliance audits and employee training. SAP experience and familiarity with shipping documentation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the site subject matter expert for hazardous materials transportation compliance. Ensure compliance with DOT 49 CFR hazardous materials regulations. Develop, maintain, and deliver hazardous materials training programs. Maintain training records, regulatory documentation, and compliance metrics. Review hazardous material shipments for proper classification, packaging, marking, labeling, and documentation. Support shipping, receiving, facility movement, and storage processes involving hazardous materials. Conduct internal assessments and audits to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate with Environmental, Safety, Security, Materials, and Logistics teams to ensure regulatory compliance. Support investigations and root-cause analysis for hazardous material incidents or non-compliance findings. Maintain required hazardous material transportation program documentation and standard work instructions.
