Position: Internship - Human Resources Summer 2026
The YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Human Resources Intern to join our HR team and gain hands-on experience in various HR functions.

The internship offers a comprehensive learning experience across multiple HR functions, providing a solid foundation for a future career in Human Resources. As a Human Resources Intern, you will support the HR department in various administrative and operational tasks.

Key learning objectives:

* Utilize an ATS system to manage the recruitment process from job posting to resume screening.

* Maintain and update employee records, certifications and HR databases.

* Use AI tools to support HR and administrative functions

* Gain an understanding of employment regulations and their application to HR functions

* Assist with benefits, workers' compensation, unemployment and leave of absence administration.

* Contribute to special HR projects and initiative as needed.

* Provide general administrative support to the Director of HR

Qualifications:

* Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

* Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

* Proficiency in G Suite (Google docs, sheets, drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
