Employment Type: Full-Time / On-site
The OpportunityWe are representing a premier, family-owned engineering firm that is a global leader in industrial electrical safety and predictive maintenance. This isn't a "cog in the machine" role; you will report directly to the CTO and serve as the primary technical authority for the firm's embedded systems stack.
If you are a senior engineer who still loves to get their hands on a PCB but has the vision to architect long-term technology roadmaps, this is your next career move.
The RoleAs the Senior Embedded Systems Architect
, you will bridge the gap between high-level business strategy and ground-level execution. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of firmware solutions—from initial concept and microprocessor selection to production and mentorship.
- Architectural Vision: Design scalable firmware architectures that align with the company’s transition toward intelligent, zero-downtime industrial solutions.
- Full-Stack Embedded Oversight: Act as the subject matter expert across firmware, hardware design, schematics, layouts, and BOMs.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Product Management to define technical scope, project timelines, and resource allocation.
- Mentorship: Conduct rigorous code reviews and establish best practices for a growing engineering team.
- Innovation: Evaluate and implement emerging tools (e.g., Rust, modern CI/CD) and stay ahead of industry trends in RF communication and IIoT.
- A Seasoned Expert: You bring 10+ years of experience in embedded systems, specifically microprocessor-based design and PCB layout.
- A Technical Polyglot: You are a master of Embedded C (fixed and floating point) but are comfortable navigating modern languages like Python, Rust, or C#.
- Hardware Fluent: You are at home in a lab using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to debug complex hardware-software interactions.
- A Project Leader: You have 3+ years of experience managing project life cycles, including budgeting, risk assessment, and scheduling.
- Clear Communicator: You can translate "deep tech" challenges into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Peripherals & Protocols: Deep understanding of SPI, I2C, UART, DMA, ADC, and DAC.
- Systems: Experience supporting multiple MPU platforms and working knowledge of RF communication.
- Methodology: Proficiency with Git and experience in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
