Job Title: Supply Management Specialist I

Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company

Location: Davenport, IA 52809

Duration: 24 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)
Shift: 1st Shift | Start between 6:00 AM–7:00 AM

Description:

Job Summary

Manage the day-to-day performance and relationships of assigned suppliers to support factory operations. Coordinate the delivery of purchased parts, resolve supply issues, and drive improvements in quality, delivery, and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the delivery of purchased parts from internal and external suppliers.
• Maintain daily communication with business-critical suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback on key supplier-management metrics.
• Investigate and resolve supplier delivery and supply issues.
• Work with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, and overall performance.
• Manage inventory for the assigned site/factory and resolve discrepancies following established procedures.
• Collect and analyze information on cost drivers, market conditions, alternative suppliers, and opportunities for improvement.
• Review supplier/contract performance and provide information for contract negotiations or renewals.
• Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities within supply-chain operations.
• Coordinate meetings and actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply issues and maintain production flow.
• Maintain accurate reports and supply-management documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good planning and organizational abilities.
• Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve supplier issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Good computer and typing skills.
• Ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Business, Management, Supply Management, or a related field.
• Open to recent graduates.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Experience in supply management, procurement, logistics, material planning, or a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Education

• Degree in Business/Management,Engineering/Technology, Supply Management, or equivalent related work experience.
