Parts Assisitant

About the Role:

The Parts Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of the parts department within a service-oriented business. This position is responsible for managing inventory, processing orders, and ensuring timely availability of parts to meet customer and operational needs. The Parts Assistant collaborates closely with suppliers, technicians, and sales teams to maintain accurate records and facilitate smooth parts distribution.

Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential to track stock levels, handle returns, and assist with inventory audits. Ultimately, this role contributes to minimizing downtime and enhancing customer satisfaction by ensuring the right parts are available when needed. This position is a f/t Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4 pm.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with inventory management software or databases.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with team members and customers.
  • Physical ability to handle parts, including lifting and moving items as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in parts management, warehousing, or a related field.
  • Customer service experience in a technical or retail environment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced work setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming parts shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems and manual logs.
  • Process parts orders promptly and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to fulfill requests.
  • Assist customers and technicians by providing information about parts availability and specifications.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with stock replenishment and audits.
  • Handle returns, exchanges, and warranty claims in accordance with company policies.
  • Support the parts manager with administrative tasks and reporting as needed.

Skills:

The Parts Assistant utilizes organizational and communication skills daily to manage inventory accurately and interact effectively with suppliers, technicians, and customers. Proficiency with inventory management software enables efficient tracking and ordering of parts, reducing errors and delays. Attention to detail ensures that parts are correctly received, stored, and documented, which supports operational continuity. Problem-solving skills help address discrepancies in orders or stock levels and facilitate timely resolution.

Additionally, physical stamina and manual dexterity are important for handling parts safely and maintaining an orderly workspace.
