DescriptionThe Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the branch. This role involves ensuring efficient daily operations, providing leadership to branch personnel, managing and developing staff, and growing the customer base by developing new business. The Branch Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining the branch’s operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Oversee day-to-day operations and management of the branch and teller line staff.
- Ensure efficient and effective branch operations, including transaction processing and opening new accounts.
- Manage the security of the branch, including the issuance of keys and access to the Bank’s security alarm and vault area.
- Develop and maintain contact with current and potential customers in the community.
- Provide outstanding customer service to current and potential customers.
- Evaluate customer needs and promote appropriate bank products and services.
- Ensure that all direct reports can effectively present the Bank’s products and services.
- Evaluate employee work performance and provide feedback through consistent and ongoing coaching and communication.
- Conduct effective performance appraisals and take corrective action whenever necessary.
- Ensure compliance of staff with applicable banking regulations, security requirements, and policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate bank policies and procedures to employees.
- Identify opportunities and implement strategies to achieve branch goals.
- Train and develop branch employees to enhance their skills and performance.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify training needs and implement effective training programs to support employee development.
- Monitor and evaluate employee progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures through regular training sessions.
- Monitor branch operations to detect potential problems early.
- Communicate resolutions to relevant stakeholders to ensure transparency.
- Make effective decisions in a timely manner, evaluate options based on available data and insights.
- Consider the impact of decisions on branch operations and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Assist staff in identifying and resolving discrepancies in cash drawer balancing.
- Regularly review and reconcile accounts to maintain accuracy.
- Update records in compliance with banking regulations and policies.
- Safeguard sensitive financial information to prevent unauthorized access.
- Collect and analyze data on branch activities and performance metrics.
- Create detailed reports highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Present findings to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
- Use reports to track progress towards branch goals and identify areas for improvement.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Physical ability to regularly lift and move supplies weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Previous banking experience.
- Ability to work independently and think critically.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong people skills to effectively manage staff and interact with customers.
- Analytical skills to evaluate and improve branch processes.
