Operations Manager
Overview
Amentum is seeking a Facility Manager for our Operations & Maintenance team in Davenport, IA. Typical work hours are Monday - Friday; hours may vary based on business demand. The Facility Manager is fully responsible for the overall operation of facility and production maintenance infrastructures.
Responsibilities, qualifications, and terms are described below.
Responsibilities- Oversees day-to-day production maintenance operations and maintenance of client’s buildings, facilities and equipment, focusing on keeping all equipment in operating and functional condition by directing a workforce consisting of technical and non-technical employees.
- Leads, develops, and manages budgets, costs, staff and vendors by planning, scheduling, implementing processes, and drafting procedures.
- Uses organizational and problem-solving skills to introduce and manage change for continuous improvement.
- Initiates and communicates personnel actions (e.g., employment, termination, performance and salary reviews, disciplinary actions, overtime scheduling/approval).
- Establishes and maintains effective two-way communications to understand employee needs and concerns; properly manages employee information.
- Maintains accountability for company assets and ensures employees protect assets.
- Demonstrates leadership by example, integrity, and candor; proactively identifies project problems or opportunities and implements optimal solutions.
- Directs day-to-day operations to achieve established goals; understands contract requirements and scope of work; supports management in client discussions and negotiations.
- Supports or conducts formal presentations to clients and management.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, facilities management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of progressively responsible facilities or production operations and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience creating metrics and data mining to drive performance results; proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and Access); CMMS experience.
- Experience creating PowerPoint presentations and presenting to large audiences.
- Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
- A valid Driver’s License may be required.
- Position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
- Ability to obtain a security access badge at the client’s location.
- Shifts may include weekends and alternative work schedules; ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials (U.S. citizenship may be required for some credentials).
- Ten years of leadership experience analyzing production maintenance problems (electrical, controls, automation, robotics, mechanical) with evidence of solutions for asset reliability, quality, safety, and cost improvements.
- Experience managing a multi-skilled workforce; troubleshooting PLCs and complex industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement disciplines (Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, etc.).
- Experience in new business start-ups.
- Willingness to work overtime; may be required to work holidays and weekends.
- Compensation: $100,000 - $107,000

- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; climb ladders, stairs, and work at heights as needed; bend/stoop, squat, and kneel repetitively; move in a 90-degree fashion and reach repeatedly.
- Must be able to differentiate wire colors; use a utility knife; interact professionally with clients under stress.
- Wear protective equipment as required (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, etc.).
- Cope with job-related stress to maintain performance.
