Maintenance Technician, 3rd Shift (Maintenance)The Maintenance Technician, 3rd Shift, is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimize downtime. This role requires a proactive approach to problem‑solving, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.
Applicants must have the legal right to work in Iowa without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
Essential Functions- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.
- Use power tools, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments to dismantle and reassemble machinery and equipment.
- Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
- Fabricate and modify parts using welders, grinders, and other equipment.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and other safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Provide detailed reports to supervisors regarding equipment performance and maintenance needs.
- Work closely with other maintenance team members and operation staff to resolve equipment–related issues.
- Participate in training programs to stay current with equipment and industry developments.
- Participate in all TVS SCS quality and excellence initiatives.

Local travel between locations and some travel to facilities in other states as needed.
Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or technical certification in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred. 3+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Basic knowledge of pneumatics, fabrication, welding, electrical (3 Phase Electricity), plumbing maintenance, and carpentry functions with the ability to read blueprints and technical manuals. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
