Overview
The Production Supervisor is accountable for providing leadership and direction to hourly team members to meet business requirements for the efficient production of metal in an Arconic Business System (i.e., Lean manufacturing). Under the direction of the Area Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe, productive environment and fostering a positive work environment by helping team members learn, grow and develop.
Responsibilities- Ensure product is produced with superior quality, improved recovery, reliable and consistent delivery performance and rapid problem solving.
- Accomplish business objectives in accordance with the principles of the Arconic Business System (ABS).
- Coach employees to move the organization toward target conditions: measurable results; projects that eliminate waste, secure flow, and create a visual factory; and high levels of employee engagement as teams develop and grow.
- Provide process direction and prioritization to craft employees on off-shifts to resolve equipment issues, as needed.
- Note:
This position will work 12-hour shifts (4:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.–4:30 a.m.) and will require rotation from day to night (and vice versa) on a schedule approximately every 3–4 months.
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Associates Degree preferred in Engineering, Leadership or a technical field from an accredited institution.
- Specialized, vocational, or technical training courses (such as apprenticeships, Journeyman licensure, etc.).
- 2 years or more of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2 or more years of experience in a union environment.

About The TeamDavenport Works is the country’s largest aluminum rolling mill. It was opened in 1948 and currently employs more than 2,000 people and ships product worldwide.
