A Manatt’s Plant Manager is accountable for the safety of everyone at the facility, striving every day to enable all Manatt’s employees to achieve their goals and responsibilities, while ensuring they feel valued. A Manatt’s Plant Manager is accountable for the people stationed at the plant—building and serving their team; the customer experience of everyone served by the plant—meeting the quality and service expectations of our customers to the smallest details and ensuring Manatt’s Ready Mix is the first choice for our customers and potential customers; and the performance and operation of the plant, including its condition and cleanliness.
A Manatt’s Plant Manager is always accountable for everything and everyone at his/her plant.
- Ensures all team members and equipment meet company efficiency and excellence standards, including labor cost/cy and cy/hour metrics.
- Ensures proper servicing and maintenance for all equipment, including plant, trucks and loader(s), through coordination with shop and plant maintenance personnel and operations to uphold Manatt’s standards.
- Ensures plant operation and equipment is in compliance with state and local regulations, including maintenance of current MDS, lock out/tag out books and environmental books and collaborates with Environmental Specialist.
- Ensures quality of every batch of ready mixed concrete produced, coordinates with and supports Quality Control team members as necessary.
- Coordinates with the collections staff to ensure proper credit policies are followed; responsible for collections of overdue payments from customers.
- Ensures adequate and appropriate inventory for PPE, safety supplies, fuel, construction materials inventory, and resale products (including completing and reporting monthly inventories in a timely manner).
- Supports all team members carrying out their duties safely, including visiting questionable jobs sites and helping determine if loads can be delivered safely.
- Positively represents and promotes Manatt’s at jobsites and elsewhere, to customers, potential customers, and potential team members.
- Takes customer orders and coordinates with customers and Truck Coordinators to ensure optimal scheduling.
- Organizes projects, gives clear direction and monitors truck flow on all projects.
- Operates ready mix truck and loader, as needed.
- Listens and coordinates with team members and available resources to ensure every team member can be their best self, analyzes and resolves work obstacles and assists in solving problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to build and motivate team members to be great on purpose while setting and achieving work goals.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, and suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve safety or increase efficiencies.
- Approves employee timecards and requested time off with a goal of sustained work life integration for all team members.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Valid Class A or B CDL with airbrakes endorsement is preferred.
- Current IDOT (Iowa Department of Transportation) Physical is required.
- Current IDOT AGG Tech, PCC 1 and PCC 2 Certifications.
- Current ACI certification is preferred.
