Position: Immediate Hirring For General Production Worker at Confidential Davenport, IA

Job Overview

The General Production Worker serves in an entry‑level utility role within a meat processing production facility, performing a variety of general labor tasks to support safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. Responsibilities include equipment setup, basic line activities, and adherence to GMP and HACCP regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all policies and procedures related to meat processing, including GMPs and HACCP regulations.
  • Maintain all production areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
  • Identify and communicate any issues that may lead to unsanitary conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Remove product and packing materials from the floor to keep work areas clear and safe.
  • Properly dispose of and track inedible products according to company procedures.
  • Separate and remove trash and recycling from production areas and place them in designated containers.
  • Stage production areas with empty containers and necessary materials for the following shift.
  • Assist with preparing and disassembling meat‑processing equipment for production and for sanitation activities.
  • Assist with the collection, opening, and reuse of rework, ensuring proper product identification and line designation to prevent cross‑contamination and allergen issues.
  • Relieve co‑workers for breaks, which may require temporarily performing other production positions.
  • Accurately complete all assigned paperwork and production documentation.
  • Assist in training new employees by demonstrating correct procedures and helping them understand production standards.
  • Check in with the appropriate supervisor before leaving at the end of the shift for any additional pass‑down or shutdown tasks.
  • Perform visual inspections of cases to ensure labels are present and code dates are clear and legible.
  • Make basic adjustments to machinery to support smooth production, including changing tape, code dates, ink, paper, film, cardboard, or pallets as needed.
  • Operate a manual hand jack to move materials or product when required.
  • Promptly communicate any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare supplies and workstations so that the next shift can begin operations efficiently.
  • Stage ingredients in 50‑pound containers to maintain consistent product flow on the line.
  • Arrange meat products as instructed and according to defined specifications.
  • Continuously comb, hang, transport, and stack product as part of the production process.
  • Inspect product on conveyor belts to ensure it meets quality specifications.
  • Perform all job duties accurately and efficiently while maintaining expected production standards.
  • Stand and walk throughout the entire shift while safely handling products and materials.
  • Lift and carry items weighing at least 50 pounds as part of normal daily tasks.
  • Use both hands to handle, move, and adjust products and materials as required.

  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform production and sanitation tasks.
  • Attention to detail for monitoring labels, code dates, product quality, and paperwork.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in general labor, general production, packing, food manufacturing, food production, line cook, food preparation, cold storage, cold food, meat handling, or meat cutting is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in environments with colder temperatures around 30 degrees and warmer areas within the facility.
  • Ability to operate a manual hand jack or willingness to learn.
