Position Title:
Welder / Fabricator Wage: $27.00 - $30.00/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours:
7:00am - 3:30pm Are your skills not being fully utilized? Reach your maximum potential by working with QPS! QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a Welder / Fabricator at a company in Davenport, IA. This is a direct hire position for 1st shift.
- Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, job tickets, and engineering specifications
- Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum
- Cut, shape, and prepare materials using grinders, plasma cutters, saws, and other fabrication equipment
- Operate lathes, mills, and other machining equipment to manufacture parts within required tolerances (machining experience preferred but willingness to learn is acceptable)
- Use precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers, to inspect parts and verify measurements to tolerances as tight as .001"
- Inspect welds, fabricated components, and completed equipment to ensure quality standards are met
- Identify and repair defects or inconsistencies in welds or fabricated parts
- Perform surface finishing, polishing, and final assembly of components
- Maintain welding, machining, and fabrication equipment and report any repair needs
- Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work area
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical welding certification preferred
- At least four years of welding/fabrication experience in a manufacturing or remanufacturing environment preferred
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
- Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron and aluminum
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints and technical specifications
- Strong understanding of welding techniques, metallurgy and fabrication processes
- Experience operating machining equipment such as lathes and mills preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods
- Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery
