Position Title: RN
Department: Progressive Care Stepdown Unit
Shift: 3rd (12 Hour Night Shift 7pm-7:30am)
Status: .9 (36 hours a week, Full time)
Purpose: Provides and directs safe, effective, and culturally‑competent care for inpatient adolescent through aging adult cardiovascular patients. Key accountabilities include assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care using critical thinking and evidence‑based practice; adherence to the Professional Practice Standards as defined by ANA; and active participation in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities.
Reporting: Manager
Supervisory Responsibility: The job requires some accountability for scheduling, assigning or coordinating work. Employees check the quality of work and provide guidance, instruction, training and direction to others. Although the job does not require formal or official supervisory responsibility, the incumbent serves as group leader or acts in an informal "assistant supervisory" or "lead" role. May provide information or suggestions on human resources matters.
Materials Responsibility: Limited responsibility for material resources including supplies, equipment, inventories, small budgets, and similar assets.
Key Relationships: Co‑workers/Health System Employees, Outside Agencies/Other Health Care Providers, General Public/Visitors/Volunteers, Physicians/Medical Office Staff, Students/Interns/Residents/Outside Instructors, Patients, Families, and Significant Others.
Position Specification- Education: Associate's Degree
- Field Of Study: Nursing
- Special Training: Basic Life Support; ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Training Preferred: Baccalaureate in Nursing
- Licensure/Registration: Registered Nurse in Iowa;
Registered Nurse in Illinois within 1 year. - Experience: No experience required.

Interaction with a variety of people; moderate difficulty and sensitivity; moderate interpersonal skills; handling moderately complicated problem situations or stressful encounters. - Working Conditions: Routine exposure to adverse environmental conditions, physical hazards, health and safety risks. Personal risks require safety equipment or precautions; exposure limited to 70% or less of the work day.
