Operating Room Registered Nurse - full-time exempt. Perioperative patient care in the intraoperative phase in both the scrub and circulating roles, serving patients from neonate to geriatric. The position is paid on a weekly salary and includes on-call coverage weeknights (M–F) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. A commitment to work one 10-hour shift per pay period (M–F, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.) may be required at the discretion of the manager.

• Scrub and circulate on cases independently, with minimal direction.
• Prepare for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating the needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia, and other OR team members.
• Provide a safe environment by applying aseptic technique and managing mechanical and psychological aspects of the environment.
• Collect and analyze data to assess patient status and contribute to nursing diagnosis.
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and families.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment setup and function.
• Initiate and direct room cleanup and turnover.
• Participate in orientation and training of new personnel.
• Assist in maintenance of physicians’ preference cards and other OR resources.
• Utilize computer systems for surgical documentation, disposition of specimens, and obtaining pertinent information.
• Participate in departmental Performance Improvement activities as appropriate.
• Attend department meetings and in-services.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, organizational integrity programs, standards of conduct, and other policies to ensure ethical and professional behavior.

• 1.0 FTE
• Exempt with weekly salary; on-call coverage weeknights M–F, 6:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• One 10-hour shift per pay period M–F, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., as required by manager
• 30-minute response time

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license (Mercy One Genesis) or current RN license in Illinois; must obtain the other state license within 12 months of hire.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three months of hire.
• Ability to operate in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
