Job Description
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., operates plasma donation centers where donors’ plasma is collected for life‑changing medicines. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.
How You Will Contribute- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serologic screening (e.g., serological protein electrophoresis).
- Evaluate donor reactions during donation, following SOPs for medical emergencies, developing Center Physician standing orders, and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs regarding unacceptable findings, medical or technical issues, and donor safety and eligibility.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation with occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate‑equivalent nursing program with state requirements.
- Registered license as LPN or LVN in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑approved basic IV therapy training.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44, with actual wage depending on qualifications, experience, skills, education, and certifications.
