Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery
Location: Council Bluffs, IA
Agency: United Health Care Staffing, Inc.
Pay: $2,300 to $2,550 per week
Shift: Nights – 3 days x 12 hours
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Travel Nurse Source is working with United Health Care Staffing, Inc. to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Council Bluffs, Iowa, 51501.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D) to join a healthcare facility in Council Bluffs, IA. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of recent L&D experience and be skilled in providing comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process, particularly during night shifts.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, including fetal heart rate monitoring
- Assist physicians and midwives during labor and delivery procedures
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and epidurals as ordered
- Support and educate patients and families throughout the childbirth process
- Respond to obstetric emergencies and perform appropriate interventions
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in EMR systems
- Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery nursing
- Active RN license in the state of Iowa (or compact state license)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and patient care abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, especially during night shifts
