Overview

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 1-week travel assignment in Davenport, Iowa.

• A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical/general inpatient units, requiring frequent monitoring and specialized nursing interventions.
• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care.
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac-related procedures and examinations.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
• Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisors or physicians of patients’ cardiac status and response to interventions.
• Responds to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies.
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients.
• Initiates patient education plans focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients.
• Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Required Licensing and Certification

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification.

Physical Abilities

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.

Technical/Motor Skills

• Ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures or department equipment.

Mental Requirements

• Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
• Must work under close supervision occasionally, and also independently without assistance from other personnel.
