What You’ll Do:
  • Perform independent nursing interventions emphasizing mental health promotion and management of acute and chronic mental illness
  • Conduct assessments, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with behavioral health conditions
  • Provide pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, including medication management and patient education
  • Order and review lab work, interpret biopsychosocial data, and document treatment progress
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community agencies for comprehensive patient care
  • Ensure all patient records are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations
  • Support quality of care initiatives and participate in organizational communication efforts
What You Need:
Required:
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in Iowa
  • Certification as a clinical specialist/NP by ANCC or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years related clinical experience
  • Strong knowledge of psychotropic medications and mental health assessment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
  • Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Knowledge of involuntary hospitalization laws and managed care concepts
  • Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and handle multiple priorities
