Associate Account Manager

Overview

Associate Account Manager (Open) – Davenport, IA. Outside Sales role focused on building and sustaining high-value partnerships within our business and industrial sectors. Primary focus is advancing sustainable growth within an established territory by nurturing existing accounts and discovering new opportunities, while delivering value through the full range of Airgas solutions.

• Discover and nurture customer opportunities by engaging in discovery conversations to understand client requirements and objectives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design and deliver tailored solutions that support client success and shared goals.
• Guide contract agreements with mutually beneficial terms to support long-term partnerships.
• Uncover and develop avenues for expanded partnership within existing accounts to enhance value and growth.
• Serve as the trusted partner and main champion for the account, providing exceptional customer service and proactively resolving inquiries.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent.
• 1–5 years of success in B2B sales or outside sales experience.
• Experience partnering to advance a dynamic customer solutions process across diverse stakeholders and verticals.
• Track record of contributing to sales and business development goals while advancing key milestones.
• Ability to use a collaborative sales process to understand and address customer concerns and provide solutions.
• Proficiency with common email, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software.
• Proactive approach to identifying client pain points and facilitating technical solutions that create shared value.
• Ability to foster understanding and connect with individuals from different backgrounds.
• Flexibility to work varied hours to support customers’ success.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

• Experience contributing to growth in industrial, commercial, or educational markets.
• Familiarity with, or willingness to learn about, industrial, specialty, and medical gases.
• Strong comfort with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and SAP experience preferred.
